Maintaining the integrity of your garage door torsion spring cables is vital to keeping your garage door safe. If the cable is severely bent, stripped or frayed changing the cable will prevent drastic future repairs, and more importantly, maintain a safe operating garage door.
Torsion Spring Cables don't always need to be replaced when your spring breaks. However it is important to check your cables and make sure they are in good working condition. If there are any imperfections in your cables it is recommended to replace them as soon as possible.
The cables are made with galvanized steel and they have the stop sleeves pre assembled. They are made for 7 ft residential garage doors and sold in pairs.
Measurement Tip: Be sure to measure the distance from the bottom of the door to the cable drum to make sure the cables will be long enough.
